Recommended Maintenance Schedule

Explanation of Services Performed

Lube-Oil-Filter
  • Change oil and filter
  • Perform full chassis lubrication and inspection
  • Check and adjust as required all fluid levels & tire pressures
  • Inspect air filter/belts/shoes & condition of windshield wiper blades and glass
  • Function test exterior lighting, windshield wiper system and horn
  • Check battery
Spark Plug Replacement
  • Remove and inspect existing spark plug for indications of cylinder inefficiencies
  • Set gap and electrode alignment of new plugs and install proper torque specifications
  • Clean plug wire end and inspect wires for correct routing, burns, cracks or other damage
Tire and Wheel Service
  • Rotate front tires to rear and vice-a-versa. Inspect tire valve cap/extension and tire valve. Adjust pressures to label specifications
  • Inspect tire tread and sidewall for damage/irregular wear/tread life left remaining
  • Inspect wheels-nuts-mounting flanges and wheel studs for damage or irregularities
  • Wash and balance check and re-balance tire and wheel assemblies as required
  • Perform visual inspection of brake linings, hardware, wear conditions
  • General inspection of brake hydraulic systems, axles seals, backing plates and splash shields
  • Reinstall tire assembly and re-torque to specification
Fuel Filter Replacement
  • Relieve system pressure where applicable
  • Inspect fuel line routing and condition
  • Inspect filter mount and line connections
  • Install new filter element
  • Replace filter nut gasket on carburetor models
  • Bleed air where applicable and inspect for leakage
Automatic Transmission Service
  • Road test analysis of shift timing and transmission performance
  • Visually inspect transmission
  • Cooler lines and external cooler
  • Case and external seals
  • Flex plate protection cover
  • Mounting and support cross member
  • Lubricate and check adjustment of mechanical linkage and shift control cable and shift indicator
  • Remove transmission oil pan and analyze contents for deposits and fluid condition
  • Replace transmission filter and seal/gasket
  • Replace pan gasket and refill with new fluid adjusted to correct level
Cooling System Service
  • Pressure test radiator and cap
  • Test coolant temperature protection valve
  • PH test coolant durability to protect against corrosion
  • Inspect engine cooling fan and shrouds
  • Inspect for air flow blockage through radiator grills, ac condenser
  • Inspect thermostatic fan clutch operation
  • Visual inspection of belts, hoses - adjust/tighten as necessary
  • Route and test block heater and cord
  • Report on signs of leakage/seepage
  • Adjust coolant fill to proper level
  • Minor cooling service as shown above is due every year
  • Major cooling system service is all the above plus drain/flush/refill system due every two years for regular coolant and every five years for dexcool long life engine coolant
Air Conditioning Service
  • Function test air conditioning and heater/ventilation system complete
  • Inspect air flow routing for fresh air intake
  • Inspect air flow path through condenser assembly
  • Inspect evaporator case and drain assembly
  • Check compressor mounting and belt idler/tension-er
  • Inspect and adjust drive belt as required
  • Visually inspect for leakage/stain-age at all wet seals and connections
  • Inspect hoses and lines for deterioration and routing
  • Clean and inspect under hood system electrical connections
  • Connect pressure gauges and check system operating pressures, cycle time, state of charge
  • Leak test using electronic leak detector
  • Adjust state of charge to label specification
